In 2001, we bought Alfred Schilling's chocolate factory on Market Street to house our catering and bakery operations. Our new space was so large we decided to open a modest storefront selling coffee, pastries and sandwiches — our hungry neighbors soon arrived in droves! We quickly realized our good fortune and built on our initial concept by introducing self-service salad and hot bars and increasing our indoor and outdoor seating. Our bakery created new cakes, luscious desserts and chocolates like the ones we dreamt of from our favorite patisseries.
